Historic Camp Richardson Resort & Marina, located on Lake Tahoe’s Southwest Shore, is the closest resort to Emerald Bay as well as gateway to the Desolation Wilderness. Whether you’re looking to kayak along the shore past the turn of the century estates at Tallac, or rent a Seadoo or power boat, Camp Rich is your summer fun headquarters.

Miles of sandy beaches awaits the visitor to Camp Richardson Marina, where everything from Seadoo and power boat rentals, to paddle boat and kayaks are available. Kids and adults alike will enjoy relaxing on the long stretch of beach, and enjoy the swimming area. Still looking for ways to add excitement? Try the Lake Tahoe Waterski School, or Sailing Lesson, or soar 12,000' above the water while Parasailing!

With the closest marina to Emerald Bay and one of the lake’s longest piers, the Camp Richardson Marina offers an endless array of ways to  explore the incredible blue waters of Lake Tahoe. A gas dock, as well as mooring facilities are available for those who would like to bring their own boat to the lake. During the summer months, the marina is open seven days a week from 8am to 8pm. Camp Richardson offers a long boating season, with fall specials running through September.

For hiking and mountain biking on some of the finest trails found in the United states, stop by the Mountain Sports Center (530.542.6584) at Camp Rich (located directly across from the hotel). With one of the lake’s largest selection of bikes to rent, and the most up-to-date information on where to ride or hike, the Mountain Sports Center also features a large selection of maps, guidebooks and bike accessories.

Located right on a paved bike path, the Mountain Sports Center is the closest bike rental location to the Tallac Historic Estates, the USFS Stream Profile Chamber, as well as several small alpine lakes and waterfalls. There are miles of safe, paved trails which are perfect for the entire family, as well as fabulous single track and dirt roads.

In addition, Camp Richardson is easy access to Desolation Wilderness and hundreds of incredible hiking trails from family friendly strolls, to steep, majestic climbs.

Just across the street from our main entrance, Camp Richardson Corral offers horseback trail rides, hay and wagon rides. For more information, please contact the corral directly at 530.541.3113.

Next door to Camp Richardson is the historic Tahoe Tallac Site and home to the late Baldwin Estates. In addition, the Tahoe Tallac Association offers a full summer and fall schedule of music, live theatre, cultural events, and art shows.
