July is an extraordinary month to visit Lake Tahoe like a local at Camp Richardson. Fireworks explode over the lake on 4th of July. Celebrities compete at the fabulous Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course. Wildflowers are bursting with reds, yellows and purples. There’s a common thread to enjoying all the area has to offer: ditch the car and do Tahoe like a local this July.

You see, locals and celebrities both have it right – there’s no car needed to see it all. And instead of traveling via private jet, guests at Camp Richardson can leave their car and hike, bike, paddle or cruise their own adventure. For the American Century Championship July 14-19, we suggest renting a boat and from our marina and viewing it from the lake, like the VIP you are.

Hit the trail in outdoor red carpet style after a stop at our Mountain Sports Center. Specialists can get your entire crew set up with full-suspension mountain bikes, beach cruisers and all the accessories to go out and play. Incredible trails for all abilities of the hiking and biking persuasion await. We’re enjoying the wildflowers that are blooming right now along the forest bike path and meadow trails.

There’s plenty of bike-friendly events to peddle to as well. The Valhalla Arts, Music & Theatre Festival has a highly anticipated line up at the nearby historic Heller Estate (Valhalla) including free concerts on the lawn July 5th, 9th and 12th. Speaking of free concerts, Live at Lakeview free concert series takes place Thursdays on the beach at Lakeview Commons (with free bike valet to continue your celebrity-eque experience). Explore it all with a small carbon footprint and no parking hassles.

Of course, celebrity treatment at Camp Richardson starts by calling our reservation specialists at 800-544-1801, or sending a lodging inquiry for an unforgettable visit this summer.

Summer at Lake Tahoe doesn’t disappoint, especially here at Camp Richardson with our lakefront locale. And don’t forget! The Forest Service is doing heavy tree work at multiple locations along Highway 89 near the resort. Plan ahead and be prepared for delays. Or bypass it all together by hiking or biking the forest path that parallels this road. Click here for more information on how you can do Lake Tahoe like a local this summer.
