Expect some seriously powderful fun for Lake Tahoe spring break 2019!

As you probably know, we have SNOW—and lots of it. That said, here are some things you can do to get the most out of your spring snow getaway in the mountains of Lake Tahoe.

#1 Take Advantage of Spring Lodging Deals

Springtime lodging deals make it super affordable to plan a family Lake Tahoe spring break getaway.

Spring is not only your last chance to beat the summer crowds, it’s also one of the best seasons for lodging deals in South Lake Tahoe. Everybody’s getting ready for summer while offering booking incentives during the shoulder season. And that means you can score some pretty deep discounts on packages. Here at Camp Rich, one of our best is the Snowshoe Cross Country Special. For $180, you get two nights in our hotel or Beachside Inn, two all-day adult snowshoe or cross country ski rentals from Mountain Sports, and $25 off breakfast at the General Store. We also just launched our Easter specials. You can check out all the deals on our specials page.

#2 Go Downhill Skiing or Boarding

Spring resort skiing at Lake Tahoe is the stuff of legends. After all, what could be better than epic powder one day and a fresh crop of newly minted corn snow a couple of days later, all set against sunny blue western skies? Not much, regardless of your skiing and snowboarding chops. And South Tahoe’s ski resorts usually have plenty of perfect ski conditions to go around through the end of April.

#3 Shop for Deals

It’s definitely a less obvious choice than spring skiing, but spring shopping for Lake Tahoe spring break can be almost as satisfying as a sweet downhill sesh; that is, if you love catching a deal as much as catching big air. In the spring, many of our local shops start marking down the last season’s gear to make room for the new stuff. And if you’re not in the market for snow equipment, there are lots of other fun shops offering great Tahoe-themed gifts and clothing. The Camp Rich General Store happens to be one of them!

#4 Hit the Casinos

Should you run into April showers, no worries! South Tahoe’s casinos are buzzing 24/7 regardless of the weather. Our world-class casinos make for a fun nighttime diversion—with plenty of options for an end-of-the-day cocktail, catching a live show, or cozying up to Lady Luck and playing slots, blackjack and all of your gaming faves. Check out this link for listings.

#5 Celebrate Easter Holiday

Every year, The Beacon creates a special Easter menu that is off-the-charts good.

There’s something magical about Tahoe during the holidays. And Easter is no different. With spring greens peeking through the snow here and there and the increasing warmth of the sun shining down on everything, Tahoe South delivers a picture-perfect place to celebrate. Also, many of the local resorts offer Easter lodging packages to encourage visitors to head up with the family. Camp Rich’s Easter lodging packages are obviously the most eggs-cellent in Tahoe South, so be sure to check them out on our specials page. Not only that, our lakefront restaurant, The Beacon Bar & Grill, puts together an Easter Brunch Menu that is downright legendary. You can see it here.

#6 Go Snowshoeing or Cross-Country Skiing

skiing and showshoeing

What could be more refreshing than a cross-country skiing sesh on the Tahoe shoreline?

Some would say there’s no better time than spring for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing at Tahoe. There are quite a few places to hit the trails in South Tahoe, but we happen to believe Camp Rich’s trails are some of the best. Why? Because that’s what everybody says! Our Mountain Sports Center also has affordable snowshoe and cross-country ski rentals for all ages and levels, so you don’t need to worry about hauling your own gear. Just come up and enjoy the glory of spring on the magical back trails.

One last thing: Remember your sunscreen. Springtime sun plus snow makes for deceivingly strong UV rays.
