With all the after-school activities and distractions from devices, it’s important to carve out some family time. When you book a trip to Camp Richardson, your day will be filled with possibilities. Imagine waking up and having all of these fun activities on your agenda.

Vikingsholm Cruise

Take a leisurely morning stroll before you hop aboard the 11 a.m. Vikingsholm Cruise. There is a second option that departs at 1 p.m. daily. This three-hour boat ride travels along Lake Tahoe, inviting you to soak up the sun and stunning views until you arrive at Emerald Bay.

You will then take a guided tour of the world-famous Vikingsholm Castle, which is as enchanting as it sounds! One of the finest examples of Scandinavian architecture in the United States, this 38-room masterpiece is guaranteed to impress the entire family.

Full-Service Marina

Upon returning from this one-of-a-kind outing, you may want to grab some snacks from The General Store before heading to our full-service marina, where you can rent a pedal boat. Pedal at your own pace, feel the fresh breeze, and forget all of life’s responsibilities. It’s quality family time AND an enjoyable workout. That’s a win-win.

Tahoe Water Taxi

And if pedal boating isn’t your thing, you can also hop on our Tahoe Water Taxi. Conveniently taking passengers from marina to marina, it stops at Camp Richardson, Round Hill Pines, Lakeside, and Timber Cove. In addition to not having to worry about traffic jams, bikes ride FREE on our Water Taxi! So, once you’re on dry land, you can reference your Lake Tahoe bike map and pick out some trails to explore!

Ice Cream Parlor

After a day full of adventure and fun, it’s time to fill your bellies. And since you’re on vacation, there will be no judgment whatsoever if you choose to have dessert before dinner. Our Ice Cream Parlor is open daily from noon until 7 p.m. Voted Best of Tahoe, this sweet destination will not disappoint.

The Beacon Bar & Grill

When you’re ready for a real dinner, you can grab a seat at the Beacon Bar & Grill. Every member of your family will enjoy the delicious food and lakeside views. Depending on how late you want to let the kiddos stay up, the adults can sip on an award-winning Rum Runner while you all watch the sunset together — an amazing end to an amazing day.

Soak Up The Quality Time: Couple’s Itinerary for Lake Tahoe

Whether you choose to get up early to catch the sunrise or sleep in to get some extra rest and relaxation, make plans to visit our full-service marina, which offers all kinds of rentals, including kayaks for two.

Kayaking

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of a kayak cutting through the water as the paddle slices through the surface. Feel your stresses slip away as refreshing water droplets spray your skin. Kayaking is one of the best ways to explore your surroundings, but don’t just take our word for it — experience it firsthand with your loved one.

Stand-Up Paddleboards

Looking for a bit more of a challenge? Stand-up paddleboards are a great couple’s activity. Just make an agreement not to laugh at one another while you refine your balancing skills.

Although from what we’ve been told, paddleboarding is a popular activity due to the fact that (unlike surfing) most people get the hang of it within an hour. You’ll be building abdominal strength and lean muscle tone while building your collection of meaningful memories.

Lunch Time

A morning on the water will, no doubt, get your appetite going. Our General Store and Deli has some crave-worthy and satisfying food. Conveniently designed to grab n’ go, you can sit on one of the picnic benches outside and take in the fresh air and lakeside views while enjoying your lunch.

Or you can head over to the Beacon Bar & Grill, where you can enjoy some live music Thursday through  Sunday from 1 p.m. to  5 p.m. and a full-service menu of traditional favorites, fresh salads, appetizers to share, and yummy comfort food. And maybe after a drink or two, especially the award-winning Rum Runner Cocktail, you’ll muster up the courage to share a dance.

Rum Runner Cruise

After enjoying the one-of-a-kind Camp Richardson entertainment, you’ll have some time to take a stroll along the sandy shore before you and your beloved hop aboard the Rum Runner Cruise

Departing several times a day for a 1.5 hour trip to Emerald Bay and back, we recommend catching the one that leaves at 6 p.m. This intimate and unique view of Lake Tahoe is the perfect way to enjoy a stunning sunset together. Feeling extra romantic? You can even take advantage of the clear skies and do some constellation searching and stargazing.

A Wave Of Good Times Come Crashing In: Friends Itinerary for Lake Tahoe

Enjoy a leisurely morning sipping coffee and chatting with your friends, then take a stroll to the conveniently located General Store and Deli to grab some snacks and necessities to hold you over until dinnertime. After all, you have a lot of things to do and adventures to enjoy.

Boat Rentals

Start the day off by renting a private boat for your group. Our Full-Service Marina offers half-day and full-day rentals of both deck boats and pontoon boats. Depending on the size of the boat, we can accommodate parties of up to 8, 10, 12, and 13 passengers. It’s the exclusive water experience you and your pals deserve.

The Guiding Fishing Charter

Speaking of boats, The Guiding Fishing Charter is another amazing way to take in Lake Tahoe’s sights and sounds. This 28-foot boat comes fully stocked with all the tackle, equipment, and confidence you need to make your next big catch. The large cabin seating can hold up to five passengers, ideal for a close-knit group excursion.

SeaDoos & WaveRunners

Are you and your friends more of the thrill-seeking type? Camp Richardson has you covered! You’ll get your adrenaline pumping with our SeaDoos and WaveRunners. Available for rent at (you guessed it) our Full-Service Marina, these water “toys” are designed to supply unforgettable experiences. You and your friends can ride the waves, race, and maybe even get some air time.

The Beacon Bar & Grill

When you’ve had a plentiful amount of the lake breeze and views only the largest freshwater lake in Sierra Nevada can provide, you and your friends can hit up The Beacon Bar & Grill for a brag-worthy dinner and some evening drinks – especially the award-winning Rum Runner Cocktail.

After giving it a try, odds are you’ll want to buy some of our Rum Runner Mix (only available for purchase in-person) to replicate this amazing drink at home while reminiscing about these good times. Feel free to make this friendcation an annual tradition! Locals and out-of-town visitors are always welcome at Camp Richardson.
